START Summer Bridge Program
The Philander Smith University S.T.A.R.T. Summer Bridge Program is a five-week academic enrichment and leadership development program that provides a seamless transitional opportunity for first-time freshmen to get an early and strong start on their college careers. By completing up to 12 college credit hours during the summer, students have the opportunity to be better prepared for the academic, personal, and social obstacles that they may encounter while acclimating to a college campus.
This intense and exciting program will be hosted in an on-campus, residential-learning community. In addition to tutoring, study skills training, and academic and leadership development workshops, the program provides extensive personal counseling and peer-mentorship to equip and support participants.
- Ability to earn up to 12 credit hours
- Ability to earn up to a $2,500 scholarship

- Impactful engagement with peers, professors, and college staff
Open To All High School Graduates Who Plan To Pursue A College Degree In Fall 2023.
