To assist you in your educational pursuits, we offer our students aid from various sources. You are encouraged to apply early and let our Financial Aid office assist you in that process. We will provide you deadlines and keep you informed of the many opportunities to cover your expenses. Helping you fund your education at Philander Smith University is our business!
FASFA Application

Your first step in the Financial Aid process is to complete and submit your FAFSA. You must complete and submit a FAFSA each year that you would like to be considered for Financial Aid and institutional scholarships. Once you’ve done that, you’re on your way to receiving financial aid!

Philander Smith University Financial Aid Student Portal
You must have a financial aid record already established at Philander Smith University in order to use this system. If you have not begun the financial aid application process, you can begin by completing online the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Enter our school code, 001103, on your application and we will automatically receive an electronic copy.

Summer Financial Aid
Summer Application Processing
Summer applications are processed in date order. If you make changes to your summer application after it has been submitted, you will need to complete a new summer aid for request form. It will be processed in order by the date it was received.
General Eligibility Requirements
- Submitting a summer application does not guarantee summer financial aid.
- Student must be fully admitted to a degree seeking program at PSU in order to receive financial aid funds.
- Student must make Satisfactory Academic Progress in order to receive financial aid funds.
- Student cannot be in default on a student loan or owe a repayment to a federal grant.
- Transient students are not eligible for summer financial aid.
PSC must have received valid results from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before summer eligibility can be determined.
The PSU online summer application is also required in order to apply for summer financial aid. In order to complete the online summer application, you must be registered in classes for the summer term before you are eligible to submit the summer application.
You must be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) in order to be eligible for a federal student loan.If you change your summer enrollment AFTER submitting your application, you must notify the Office of Financial Aid immediately. Any change could affect aid eligibility.
Step By Step Process
The Summer 2023 Financial Aid Application is available. You must login to your Philander Smith University Net Partner account to complete the online application. Please follow the instructions below to submit your summer financial aid application. You must register for your summer classes before your summer financial aid application will be processed.
Application Process

Must have completed 2022-2023 FAFSA.

Register for all summer classes in which you plan to enroll.

Login to your Net Partner account.

Select 2022-2023 as the Current Award Year in the top right corner.

Select Menu from the top left corner.
