Workforce Innovation Strategic and Economic Public Private Partnerships (WISE P3)
WISE-P3 (Workforce Innovation and Strategic Economic Public Private Partnerships) is Philander Smith University’s response to solving the urban issue of underemployment in Arkansas.
START Summer Bridge Program
The Philander Smith University S.T.A.R.T. Summer Bridge Program is a five-week academic enrichment and leadership development program that provides a seamless transitional opportunity for first-time freshmen to get an early and strong start on their college careers.
McKinley Newton Honors Academy
The McKinley Newton Honors Academy was founded in 2001 and named for one of the University’s most distinguished and admired teacher-administrators.
Ark – LSAMP
Arkansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (ARK-LSAMP) aims to increase the number of under-represented minority students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) areas.
Study Abroad
Philander Smith University works jointly with other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) to enhance the academic, social and cultural experiences of faculty and students beyond the home campus, preferably in exchange and study abroad.
