New STudent registration checklist
Congratulations! Welcome to Philander Smith College. We are excited that you have chosen such a prestigious college to gain a higher education and we could not be more thrilled to have you join the Philander family.
In preparation for your arrival on August 9, 2019, we ask that you complete the following checklist (in order). Please be sure to keep a copy of all documents that you complete and bring those copies with you. Read the instructions carefully as some documents require you to print and email them back to a particular office on our campus.

1.confirm your registration for panther camp
Use the button below and complete the brief RSVP form to confirm your intent to attend the 2019 Panther Camp (New Student Orientation). (Please note that Panther Camp is mandatory for all incoming freshmen and new students).
2. create your fsa id
Follow the link below to create your Federal Student Aid ID. The FSA ID is the username and password you use on federal student aid websites such as fafsa.gov and StudentLoans.gov, and on the myStudentAid mobile app.
3. complete fafsa 2019-2020
Complete 2019-2020 form (using 2017 tax information) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).
If you are selected for verification, please click the button below to locate the necessary forms on the website and verify your eligibility for federal financial aid.
5. complete ferpa form
Download and complete the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act form and print and bring with you to submit during onsite check-in. Download FERPA Form
6. Intent to enroll form
Be sure you have completed and submitted the intent to enroll form. If you have not submitted the form, please print and complete the form, and be sure to bring it with you when you arrive for Panther Camp.
7. housing application
If you intend to live on-campus for the 2019-2020 Academic Term, please complete the housing application form and fax or email completed form to the contact listed on the form.
APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is available now. You have two options for completing your 2019-2020 FAFSA®.
FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) https://www.fafsa.gov
You will need the following information to complete your FAFSA®:
Your FSA ID to sign electronically
Your Social Security Number
Your 2017 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
If you are a dependent student for financial aid purposes, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).
If you have already submitted your 2019-2020 FAFSA, please disregard this message.
8. Housing Deposit/room reservation fee
The room reservation fee will be $235 and can be paid online at the link below or by calling the Business Office. The housing deposit must be paid before a room will be assigned.
Completing all of the provided material PRIOR TO ARRIVAL will ensure a smoother check-in process when you arrive on campus on August 9, 2019.
