General Education

The Division of General Education contributes to the college’s mission by preparing students to become “academically accomplished.”

General Education may be used only once to satisfy a general education requirement. Some majors require specific general education courses. Higher-level courses may substitute for some general education courses, provided those higher level courses are not part of the student’s major. A student must earn a “C” or higher in developmental math, college math, and college algebra; reading; and developmental English, Composition I, and Composition II. Developmental courses in the aforementioned subject areas are required if the ACT subject score is 17 or below or SAT subject score is below 500 in reading, writing, and mathematics.
