- Coronavirus Updates

As a result of growing public health concerns associated with the COVID-19 (coronavirus), effective Tuesday, March 10, 2020, Philander Smith College is suspending all non-essential business travel-international and domestic-by faculty, staff and students. This travel suspension is effective until further notice while the PSC Executive Cabinet continues to monitor the situation.
Faculty, staff and students who currently have travel scheduled or are planning to book travel should contact the Business Office immediately to discuss the process for canceling or rescheduling. PSC is considering alternatives and potential avenues through which to help accommodate the needs of all faculty, staff and students throughout the ban.
Additionally, should any faculty, staff or students have personal travel planned internationally or to known impacted areas, please immediately submit your travel plans to your supervisor and Nurse Regena Steward for review. This is an important step to keep abreast of those who might be exposed to the virus in order to keep the Campus Community healthy and safe from potential outbreaks.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regularly issues "Travel Health Notices" that address disease outbreaks and other health-related matters. Please see this link for updates relating to the coronavirus https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we implement procedures to best ensure protection for those within our Institution. We will provide updated communication as deemed appropriate while we continue to monitor the situation and adjust plans accordingly.
