- Coronavirus Updates
Dear Philander Smith College Students:
Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Philander Smith College has received $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education to provide emergency aid to those students enrolled during the Spring 2020 Semester who were affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
More specifically, under the CARES Act, the Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEER) fund allows for students to receive emergency grants intended to help offset expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19.
The College will soon announce the process through which eligible students will be able to apply for this emergency relief funding. Please monitor your student email as well as the Coronavirus Updates webpage for this important information, to include eligibility requirements and deadline for submission.
Scholars, thank you for your patience as we work to develop a method for the disbursements of these funds. In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and keep yourselves well.
