The Residential Life Center at Philander Smith University provides students with comforts of modern amenities--including private baths, cable access and high speed Internet/WiFi connections. The residential complex also features a community meeting and recreation room, a study room, two laundry rooms on each floor.

Suite A and Suite B

Suites A and B were opened in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Suite A houses sixty residents and Suite B houses fifty-five residents. These buildings are reserved for upperclassmen. Suite A has twelve private suites with baths and forty-eight private rooms with shared baths.

Suite B has eleven private suites with baths and forty-four suite rooms with shared baths. Both buildings can boast of modern amenities such as furnished kitchenettes with dining table and chairs, microwaves, refrigerators, cabinet storage areas, and comfortable lounge areas with flat screen television. Also, each suite area is equipped with a washer and dryer.

Barracks

The transformation of the historic Barracks building was completed in Fall 2009 and is suitable campus housing for 19 residents. The access-controlled facility features nine double occupancy rooms and one single occupancy room, a laundry room on each floor, a first-floor kitchenette, a study lab with computers and an entertainment lounge area with a flat-screen television. This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Panther Village

Our newest addition is Panther Village, located at 915 West 16th Street; six individual homes house a maximum of eight to ten students.

These units offer double occupancy, family size refrigerators, large kitchen area, study room with computer access, and a large social and lounge area.

Student meals and catered events feature some of the finest cuisine available on this campus.

ROOM RESERVATIONS

New students who desire campus residence should apply for dormitory room reservations at least six weeks prior to registration.

Don't wait! Reservations can be completed at any time during the academic year for the fall or spring semesters.

$200.00- this is an annual, non-refundable fee.
