PSC 2011 Commencement Speaker Celebrity DJ Beverly Bond, founder of Black Girls Rock!, is scheduled to deliver a vivacious address to the 100 graduates matriculating Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center. Bond, a distinguished business owner, mentor and philanthropist partnered with BET to promtote the achievements of black women. Philander Smith College Honors National Prayer Day
An ecumenical prayer vigil will be held Thursday, May 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kendall Center to honor the National Day of Prayer. Religious and faith leaders from Central Arkansas will join Pastor Ronnie Miller-Yow, director of Religious Life at Philander Smith College in conducting the vigil which is being held to address social, health and spiritual issues through prayer.
