Philander Smith College is in the running to secure a $50,000 or $10,000 campus improvement grant from Home Depot. We need your votes to get it though and you can vote each day until April 22, 2011. This is the type of grant that requires outside participation. School Year's Last Bless The Mic Guests

Media personality and news announcer, Jacque Reid, will be the next Bless the Mic speaker at Philander Smith College. Reid comes to campus, Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. A former CNN and BET news anchor, Reid delivers entertaining and insightful stories as a regular voice who appears on the Tom Joyner Morning and the D.L Hughley radio shows. Come hear Reid bless the mic in the M.L. Harris Auditorum. No tickets or reservations are required.

Mark you calendars for the April 1, 2011, 7 p.m. appearance of Tyrese, actor, singer and model, who will finalize this year's Bless the Mic series as our "Chopped and Screwed" speaker. We will send you a reminder about this event later.
