You have said that “we want more” and in order to get there we all must work together. Let’s make not only SGA something to be proud of, but let us work to make Philander better. “

Here are the things that we are focusing on this upcoming year:

  • Academics
    • Making sure the students have a more active voice and role in the classroom; also bridging the gap between what is learned in the class and applying it in the real world.
  • Policy
    • Making sure student policy has input from the student body; also for SGA to have information regarding policies that affect the student body
  • Incoming Student Initiative
    • A program that will help students get adjusted to college life and get them involved in leadership experiences
  • Student Opportunities
    • Encouraging students to be active on campus and provide direction for goals that students may seek
  • Communication
    • Keeping the student body notified about what is going on at Philander Smith and keep them in the know; also be more open to the student body as a resource and aid.

The 2012-2013 looks like a promising year for Philander Smith College. To hear more about the projects make sure to ask your SGA members.
