Alumni Reunion Weekend '09
Dear Philanderians:
You and your family are invited to attend the first ever Philander Smith College Class Reunion Weekend scheduled for May 1-3, 2009 in which we will be paying tribute to the classes of ’59,’69,’79,’89 and ’99.
When you return, we hope the beauty of the campus will reconnect you with cherished moments from your college days, causing you to reflect: The little tree in front of the Cox Building is all grown up now. The spot where you stood in the choir is still there. The spot where you scored the winning basket echoes the cheers from the past. Even “The Wall” still stands as strong as our tradition. Most importantly, the classrooms that provided your foundation are still educating eager young minds.
We will specially honor the classes of ’59, ’69, ’79, ’89 and ’99, but make no mistake we want ALL alumni to participate in this inaugural celebration.
There’s a lot planned for your enjoyment. You will take part in a meet-and-greet gathering, campus tours, baccalaureate service, commencement and a celebration banquet in your honor. The weekend will culminate with a soul-stirring Sunday morning service at Wesley Chapel.
While the Reynolds Library, the Kendall Health & Science Center, and the refurbished Sherman R. Tate gymnasium are visible signs of a bright future at your alma mater, what our treasured alumni hold in their hearts for “Dear PSC” will always shine brightest.

1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 1 in Kelly Hall* on the campus of Philander Smith and 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center for those attending the commencement ceremony.
