The Philander
Smith College Bookstore is located on the first floor of the Myer Titus Academic
Center, Suite 122
. The hours
of operation are 9:00am until 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. We are open
to the general public. The store maintains a variety of general reading material
with an emphasis on African American authors. The bookstore is also an
excellent source for snacks, greeting cards, school apparel, supplies, and
study aids. Stamps and envelopes can
also be purchased at the checkout counter. We accept Visa, Master Card, and
American Express for payment. Textbooks are stocked and sold only during the
beginning of each semester.
Textbook Policy
Philander Smith College
has a convenient and unique partnership with a local textbook retailer.
Textbook Brokers is our official campus source for textbooks. Books can be
purchased with a check, credit card, cash or the flexible payment option. The
flexible payment option allows students who are approved for financial aid to
charge books against an anticipated refund. If the student meets the
requirements, a book voucher will be issued by the Business Office.
Textbook Brokers will have books available for
two to three weeks beginning with the first day of class. Students will need to
provide the vendor with the book voucher and a copy of their schedule. Returns
and exchanges need to be transacted two weeks from the first day of class. The

Mail Services
The Philander
Smith College
mail distribution center is currently housed in the Student Union Center. All first-class mail is sorted in the mail
room and dropped in the student’s assigned mail box. Incoming packages from
FedEx, UPS, Airborne, and DHL are received in the bookstore, and staged for
pick-up. A notice is left in the student’s mail box. The student’s I.D. and
signature are required before the package can be released.
